Great Salt Lake Full Moon Walk
***You must pre-register for this event ***
please pre-register by October 19th
Only 100 people max capacity on this tour. If you are not pre-registered we can not guarantee you will have a spot on the tour.
Join a park ranger for an evening stroll across the expanse of Silver Sands Beach. The walk will a little after sunset, and we will watch as the moon rises and casts its reflection over the Great Salt Lake.
This is the 5th and final part of our Full Moon Walk Series. Each walk has a different topic. Octobers Topic will be Myths and Legends of the Great Salt Lake.
Meet at the observation point just past the visitor center at 6:55 pm. The Moon is scheduled to begin to rise at 7:00 pm so please be prompt. We will walk and talk as we watch the moonrise above the Wasatch mountains.
The walk will consist of approximately 1/2 mile along relatively flat terrain with typical beach hazards. Flashlights are recommended, though we will keep them off for much of the time. They will be helpful on the walk back. Bug Spray is also recommended
The event tour is $3 per person + the $5 (per vehicle) to enter the park. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
*This event may be canceled if the weather is cloudy or bad.
** This is event is held at the Great Salt Lake Marina in Magna, and NOT on Antelope Island.
